Teaming and the partner directory

ProfessionalBD, Proposal Manager, Manager

Teaming (Pursue it › Teaming) is where you find partner companies, publish what you are looking for, answer introductions and keep track of the teams you form. Companies find each other through the AxisSynapse partner directory: a shared directory of the companies that chose to publish a capability profile — and only the parts of it they chose to show.

TL;DR — A Capture Administrator publishes your company under Our profile, switching on each field to show. Search Directory and choose Ask to team. Answer requests under Requests: accepting shares your contact with them and theirs with you. Track partners and who does what under My teams.

What other companies can and cannot see

Introductions are mediated. Another company sees your published profile — never who works for you — and contact details are exchanged only when both sides agree: the company you ask accepts, and both contacts are released at that moment.

  • Nothing is shown until you choose. Your directory profile is separate from your company profile. Every field has its own Show … to other companies switch, and every switch starts off.
  • Nothing private is ever published. Your pipeline, CRM, notes and bid decisions never reach the directory. The past-performance summary is text you write for the directory.
  • A company that never publishes is invisible. Teaming is optional; everything else in Axis Capture works without it.
  • Every answer is recorded in both companies' audit trails — received, accepted, declined, withdrawn — without naming anyone at the other company.

Publish your company

  1. Open Our profile

Capture Administrators only. A first profile is filled in from your company profile as a starting point; nothing is saved or shown yet.

  2. Choose what to show

Edit each field and switch on Show … to other companies for the ones you want published. What other companies see previews exactly what the directory will show. The company name must be on.

  3. Save, then publish

Save, then Publish to the directory and confirm it is you (passkey or authenticator). You can Withdraw from the directory at any time, with no confirmation.

FieldWhat it doesAccepted values / default
Company nameWhat you are known by in the directory.Always shown while published.
Summary, capabilitiesWhat you do, in your own words.
NAICS and PSC codesWhat other companies search and filter on.
Where you perform workTwo-letter state codes.
CertificationsSuch as ISO 9001 or CMMC Level 2.Claimed by you; not verified.
DesignationsSmall business, 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, VOSB, WOSB, EDWOSB, SDB.Claimed by you; not verified.
Past performanceA summary you write for the directory.
UEILets companies see the public award record for that UEI, and is what verification checks.Shown as Verified only once proven — see Verification below.

Once published, switching a field off applies at once. Showing something new — switching a field on, or changing a field that is shown — asks you to confirm it is you again.

Verification

Anyone can type a real company's name and UEI, so the directory says exactly how much AxisSynapse has established about a profile — and never more. Our profile › Verification shows your level, what other companies see, and what you can do next.

FieldWhat it doesAccepted values / default
Matches SAM.gov registrationYour UEI is active in SAM.gov, unexpired, under the name you publish (or its "doing business as" name). Not proof of ownership, and never labelled Verified.
Verified — domainYou published a DNS record on the website SAM.gov registers for your UEI.Shown to other companies as Verified.
Verified — reviewedAxisSynapse reviewed evidence that your company owns its UEI.Shown to other companies as Verified.
Not confirmed / Not checkedSAM.gov has no matching active registration, or nobody has checked yet.Other companies see nothing. The panel says why.
  1. Check SAM.gov registration

Save your profile with your UEI and choose Check SAM.gov registration. AxisSynapse reads the public registration and shows what SAM.gov records: legal name, status, expiry, CAGE code and website. A workspace can run a few checks a day.

  2. Prove you control your website

If SAM.gov registers a website for your UEI, choose Get the DNS record and ask whoever manages your domain to add the TXT record shown. Then choose Check the DNS record. Keep the record in place — AxisSynapse checks it again.

  3. Or ask AxisSynapse to review

For what the checks can't settle — no website on your registration, or a name SAM.gov records differently — choose Ask AxisSynapse to review, say who you are and how it can be confirmed, and give a contact. That goes to AxisSynapse only, never to another company. You are notified of the decision.

Badges follow the profile as it is now: change your published name or UEI and the badge disappears until it is checked again. AxisSynapse re-checks every verified profile at least every 30 days and before its registration expires; if the DNS record is gone, the registration lapses or SAM.gov now lists a different name or website, the level drops and you are notified. If another company has already verified your UEI, you can't be verified automatically — ask for a review.

In Directory, switch on Verified companies only to see just the companies that proved ownership.

Find partners

Directory searches published companies by keywords, NAICS codes, industry (two-digit NAICS sector), PSC codes, location, certifications, designations, published past performance and public award record. A company only matches on what it chose to show. Your own company never appears.

To ask a company to team, choose Ask to team, say what you are looking for and write a message. Your company must be published — they see who is asking by your profile. The contact you enter is held by AxisSynapse and shared with them only if they accept.

Needs lists what other companies are looking for — a capability, a subcontractor, a teaming partner, someone in a state, with a certification or in a NAICS code. Answer sends that company a request. Post a need publishes one of yours to every company in the directory (it asks you to confirm it is you); close it when it is filled.

Answer requests

Requests has two lists. Received: companies that asked to team with you. Accept — giving the contact you want to share — or Decline, with an optional note. Sent: companies you asked; their contact appears once they accept, and a request nobody has answered can be withdrawn.

You are notified when a company asks to team with you and when a company answers your request (the Teaming notification category, which you can mute on its own). The notification opens the request.

FieldWhat it doesAccepted values / default
Waiting for an answerNobody has answered yet.Requests close after 30 days without an answer.
AcceptedBoth contacts are shared. They stay shared, even if either company later leaves the directory — until either company ends the introduction.
EndedOne company ended an accepted introduction.Neither company is shown the other's contact any more. It can't be reopened; send a new request to talk again.
DeclinedNothing was shared. The same subject can't be raised with that company again for 30 days.
Withdrawn / ClosedThe request ended without an answer. The screen says why — withdrawn, a company left the directory, or no answer in time.

End an introduction

Either company can end an accepted introduction: choose End introduction on it, optionally write a note to the other company, and confirm. From then on neither company sees the other's contact in Axis Capture — your own record of the contact you shared stays in your history — the other company is notified, and the introduction cannot be reopened. To talk again, either company sends a new request. A team member who came from an ended introduction is marked Introduction ended on My teams.

Block a company

If a company keeps sending requests you don't want, choose Block company on any request it sent and pick a reason. Its requests that are still waiting are declined, a request you sent it that is still waiting is withdrawn, and it can no longer find your company in the directory or send you a new request.

The company is never told it was blocked — it sees an ordinary decline. Accepted introductions are not affected; end them separately if you want to. Blocked companies are listed under Blocked companies at the foot of the Requests tab, where Unblock lets them find you and ask again. A subject they raised and you declined still can't be raised again for 30 days, as after any decline.

My teams

Record the teams you form: your role (prime, subcontractor, joint venture, mentor, protégé), the partner companies and their parts, the agreement in place, the opportunities you pursue together and who is responsible for what. Add a company from an accepted introduction — the team then shows whether the company is still in the directory and the contact it shared — or as an external company you know from elsewhere. Teams are private to your workspace.

Plans

Teaming is part of the Advanced and Enterprise plans. On a plan without it, the Teaming screen explains what it is. If your plan stops including it, your profile is hidden from the directory and you can't send or accept introductions — but your teams and past introductions stay readable, you can still decline a request, and you can always withdraw your profile. A plan can limit how many of your requests wait for an answer at once (20 by default). Ending an introduction, declining and blocking never depend on the plan. Checking verification and asking for a review need Teaming in your plan; seeing your current verification does not.

Common gotchas

  • "Publish your company's profile first." You can't ask a company to team, or post a need, until your company is published.
  • "I can't see the Publish button." Only a Capture Administrator publishes the company's profile.
  • "A company I worked with disappeared from the directory." They withdrew their profile, or their plan no longer includes Teaming. Accepted introductions keep their contacts unless either company ends them.
  • "Our Verified badge disappeared." Your published name or UEI changed, the DNS record is no longer found, or the SAM.gov registration lapsed. Our profile › Verification says which.
  • "Checks against SAM.gov are not available." AxisSynapse's SAM.gov connection is not set up or is paused. Nothing about your level changes; you can still ask for a review.
  • "A contact disappeared from an introduction." One of the two companies ended it; the request says which, with the note if one was left.
  • "Recommended partners says to add a NAICS code." The Dashboard recommends companies in your NAICS codes; add one to your company profile.
