Employee home

ProfessionalAny employee

/hcm/me is your self-service home in AxisSynapse HCM. It's designed around two ideas: an Action Inbox that surfaces every item waiting on you, and a card grid that gets you to the self-service surface you need in one click. There's no menu to navigate — what you can do is what's on the screen.

TL;DR — Land at /hcm/me. Clear the Action Inbox first (it has everything blocking you), then dive into the card grid for the routine self-service flows: pay stubs, time-off, benefits, equity, learning, expenses, goals, career, demographics, tax forms.

Before you start

  • You must be an active employee in the workspace's HCM module. If the page redirects you to /hcm, your account isn't provisioned in HCM yet — ask your admin.
  • The first-time view auto-resolves a few things: your manager (for routing approvals), your benefits class (for what shows on the Benefits card), and your current period for pay slips.

The Action Inbox

The strip at the top of /hcm/me. Each row is something pending YOUR action, sorted by deadline.

FieldWhat it doesAccepted values / default
Document to signAn offer letter, NDA, equity grant agreement, or annual policy ack waiting on your signature.Routes you to the DocuSign-style signing surface; SHA-256-locked, audit-trailed.
Open enrollment in progressReminder that the workspace's open-enrollment window is active and you haven't submitted.Disappears the moment you submit elections.
Time-off awaiting your replyAn HR question about an open time-off request.Reply inline; no email loop.
1:1 prep dueYour next 1:1 is within 24 hours and the agenda is empty.Click to add talking points.
Approval as a backupYour manager designated you as a backup approver for a teammate's approval.Visible only while you're delegated; clears when the primary approver returns.
Expiring documentAn I-9 expiry, work-permit expiry, or training certificate within 30 days of lapsing.Severity escalates as the deadline approaches.
Items appear here only when they need YOU; nothing in the inbox is informational.

The card grid

Ten cards (or so — the count tracks the modules your tenant has enabled). Each is a deep link to a self-service surface.

Three inline modals you'll see often

A few flows complete entirely in-place on /hcm/me so you don't have to deep-navigate for quick acts.

FieldWhat it doesAccepted values / default
Quick PTO requestSame-day or short PTO requests without leaving the home.Picks the closest valid policy automatically; routes to your manager.
Document e-signSingle-page acknowledgement of a policy update.Field-level signing with full audit (ESIGN / UETA conformant).
Acknowledge a notificationConfirm you saw a workspace-wide notice (e.g. open-enrollment reminder).Persists per-user; doesn't show again.

Privacy posture on demographics

The demographics surface is where you self-identify for EEO + DEI reporting. Three things are true at all times:

  • Self-ID is always optional. "Prefer not to say" is a first-class option for every field.
  • DEI dashboards never reveal you. Aggregates are floored at the workspace's configurable k-anonymity threshold; below the floor, the dashboard renders a redacted card instead of your data.
  • Audit trail. Every change to your demographic record is recorded — see Your account audit for the per-user feed.

Manager view

If you manage at least one direct report, a Switch to team dashboard link appears in the top right. It takes you to Manager dashboard — your approvals, your team's intelligence cards, calibration prep.

Common gotchas

  • "My Action Inbox is empty but I expected something." Items appear only when they need YOU. A teammate's request waiting on your manager doesn't appear in your inbox unless your manager has delegated to you.
  • "A card is missing." Card visibility tracks workspace module configuration — if your tenant doesn't have an Equity plan, the Equity card doesn't render.
  • "I see a 1:1 reminder but the agenda is already filled." The reminder uses a snapshot from the previous load; refresh.
  • "The demographics card asked me twice." New self-ID categories added by your admin re-prompt for completeness. You can always pick "Prefer not to say" — that satisfies the prompt and never appears again until the admin changes the schema.
